Do restrictions apply for night-time flights at Schiphol?

Since October 1997, take-offs and landings of certain noisy aircraft, known as Chapter 2 aircraft, have been forbidden at Schiphol at night. In principle, take-offs of all noisy aircraft in Category 3 are prohibited. Since 1 April 2002, no Chapter 2 aircraft have been permitted at European airports at all. Since 2008, only aircraft that are 'P-RNAV approved' have been permitted to approach and land at Schiphol at night. This means that they have the navigation equipment on board to enable them to fly very accurately within the prescribed airways.
